Ajay Patel
Symphony Orchestra Conductor

Ajay Patel is a graduate of Arizona State University, and holds a masters degree in cello performance. His passion for teaching music and connecting with talented youth have earned him recognition as one of the area’s fine music educators. Ajay is currently the Director of Orchestras at Basha High School, and enjoys serving as clinician and adjudicator for many local music festivals for young musicians. A strong advocate for music education, Ajay established a summer music program through the Chandler Unified School district (PASA), to give young talent the opportunity to continue their study in music beyond the school year.

An accomplished cellist, Ajay has performed with many local orchestras and ensembles. He also maintains a private cello studio, and his students have regularly participated in Regional and All State orchestras, and have gone on to study cello performance and music education at major state universities.

Ajay’s wife is an accomplished violinist and holds her masters degree in violin pedagogy and performance, and also maintains a high level violin studio. They live in Chandler with their daughter and son.
